Different companies and professionals from the sector create the Andalusian cooperative Performing and Musical Initiatives
Free and autonomous professionals, as well as different companies of the theater, dance and music sector are the partners that make up the Andalusian cooperative Iniciativas Pernicas y Musicales that was presented on Monday. This cooperative includes “the most outstanding of the profession of music, theater and dance of the province.”
This was pointed out by the coordinator of the cooperative and former director of the Cervantes Theater, Carlos de Mesa, who was accompanied by the baritone Carlos Álvarez and the Minister of Culture and Sport, Luciano Alonso, during the press conference on the occasion of the meeting between both institutions that has taken place this Monday.
This cooperative, formed by the director of the company ‘Acuario Teatro’, Diego Guzmán, and the composer of the studio Línea Azul, Antonio Meliveo, among others, has emerged with the intention of “being a company that will try to produce benefits that they will be reinvested in the production of scenic, musical and theatrical elements “, pointed out De Mesa.
Likewise, it will pursue participation in three main projects in the medium and short term. First, the creation of a platform for musical and stage productions; second, the formation of a festival that covers the summer and serves as a presentation of the management and, finally, try to achieve the management of some of the scenic spaces that Malaga has, both in the capital and in its province.
Thus, Álvarez has indicated that these actions are supported “by the professional and business management of each of the components of the cooperative.” Also, he said that, although they want to have the collaboration of the administrations, they intend “to reach a point of self-management that allows not to be dependent on the administrations”.
In this way, they aspire to present themselves “as promoters and producers of both musical and scenic shows that are the ones that produce benefits and allow positive feedback so that these benefits are reinvested in the next productions of scenic, musical and theatrical elements”, he pointed out. .
For his part, the counselor has shown his “satisfaction for a management model suitable for the new times” and has indicated that it is “a novel initiative”.
Thus, he explained that the Junta de Andalucía has made different ideas come to the cooperative during the meeting. On the one hand, the counselor informed them that the Board “has maintained an amendment to the budgets of the European Union (EU) where all subsidies, incentives and support of culture in Europe for large and small businesses are concentrated”.
With this amendment, the Ministry of Culture and Sports intend that “a large part of these cultural initiatives are intended only for small and medium enterprises that can not compete with large foundations when presenting a project in Europe”, has Precise Alonso.
Law of patronage
He has also indicated that they will look for formulas “to endorse projects that banks currently do not endorse and so they are given ten-year loans.” On the other hand, has stated that they intend that “culture retreat into a release of public tutelage to pass into the hands of society” and for this, said they are working on a Law of Patronage in Andalusia, “not to go only to sponsorship but also to cultural consumption “.
On this law, has specified that it has arisen from the central government took it “as a priority in its electoral program, but to be governing with a different from the one that won, has parked.” Thus, it has qualified that “the Law of Patronage at the national level has more power”, since in Andalusia “only the tax deduction can be applied on part of the Autonomous Community”.
Finally, it has determined that the Law of Patronage “will not mean the substitution of public money, but that it is about civil society taking a leadership”.
